A tourist guide and her group visit a famous Cathar castle. As she enters the exhibition hall dedicated to the Inquisition, she is horrified to discover the mutilated corpse of a young woman in a torture cage. Present at the crime scene, Victor, a young man with Down Syndrome, is the main suspect and everything seems to accuse him. Pauline Franchet, the gendarmerie Lieutenant and Victor’s sister, is immediately dismissed from the investigation and replaced by Thomas Costella, Captain of the criminal section of Montpellier. But Pauline Franchet will not give up fighting to protect her brother and to clear his name… no matter the consequences for her and her loved ones…
