The city of Nîmes, known as the "French Rome".
A few days before retiring, police inspector Beatrice Pernetti gives an icey welcome to her successor, *Alix Madrigal, freshly arrived from Paris. Though they are poles apart, the two women will have to quickly put aside their differences. At the foot of the Magne Tower lies a corpse dressed in gladiator's garb, with a sword stuck through his stomach... Who could possibly have chosen such an emblimatic spot to reenact an execution from another time and age? And above all, why?
The two policewomen will have one week together to connect, arrest the murderer and discover a greater complicity together than they could have ever imagined.
